Former Queen frontman, the late Freddie Mercury, was known for his flamboyant outfits on stage and in his music videos, but we never thought we'd see him grace the cover of San Diego Comic Con's Souvenir Book.

Okay, so it's not really him -- it's actually Morpheus from Neil Gaiman's series 'Sandman.' But still.

When he wasn't wowing the world with his astonishing vocals, Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara) spent some time in Queen's video for 'I Want to Break Free' re-creating parts of the ballet 'Afternoon of a Faun,' dancing along with members of the Royal Ballet in a spotted leotard and sporting pointed ears like a faun.

This year's SDCC souvenir booklet features artwork from Dave McKean in celebration of the prequel release of author Neil Gaiman's best-selling 'Sandman' series, which is about Morpheus (aka Dream), the lord and ruler of all dreams and member of the Endless. But if some people accidentally mistake him for Freddie Mercury, well, that's not anyone's fault.
