Sir Elton John + Dave Furnish Have Their Second Baby Via Surrogate [UPDATED]
Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish are now the proud papas of a second baby born via surrogate.
Science, get on that whole male pregnancy thing. If seahorses can do it, so can we. We're at the top of the food chain, dammit.
The second child - whose gender has yet to be announced - is said to be from the same surrogate who birthed the couple's first child, Zachariah, on Christmas Day back in 2010. The unnamed woman is also said to be the rent-a-uterus who carried Camille Grammer's children. (Does she only do celebrity babies? Is she available for parties?)
Elton's representatives have yet to confirm or deny the news, merely saying, “We never discuss our clients’ personal lives.”
After Zachariah's birth, the singer said of parenthood, “I think it changes everybody. It’s the most wonderful thing that you could possibly go through. I regret a little bit that I didn’t do it sooner, but he has changed our lives. Everything is about him now.”
Elton, 65, and David, 50, have been together since 1993 and wed in a British civil ceremony in 2005. Congrats, you crazy kids.
UPDATED: Not long after the NY Post published the story about all this, Elton's rep released a statement saying, “Reports that Elton and David have had a second child are false.” But the couple later confirmed the news themselves. Their son Elijah was born on Jan. 11.
