$1,700 Plane Ticket For His Hat

Once upon a time, U2 frontman Bono left his favorite hat in London after taking a flight to Italy and the world was irrevocably changed forever.

Remember that earthquake? Yeah, that was because Bono was without his much loved headgear.

So he did what any normal person who talks strangers into donating to the poor would do: He paid $1,700 for a one-way first-class plane ticket. For his hat.

You know, because asking a friend to mail it to him or buying a new hat or just dealing with it were beyond the realm of possibility.
