Singer Meat Loaf filed for bankruptcy way back in 1983 when his business partners sued him for breach of contract and put him $1.6 million in debt.

All his assets were frozen in the process and he had to find completely new management. You know, one that wasn't stealing his cash.

Things got worse from there -- he went bankrupt a second time in 1986 when his new writing partner tried to give all his songs a dance beat and it was a flop.

Thankfully for him, his seminal album 'Bat Out of Hell' still manages to sell 200,000 copies a year. So he's never had to starve.
