'Homeland' star Claire Danes is no stranger to roughing it as CIA agent Carrie Mathison, and she was channeling that casual nature long before her stint on the Emmy-winning show.

Back in 2009, Danes left the gym and grabbed some coffee, showing that she doesn't need makeup to have a flawlessly pale face just like her future fictional counterpart.

Perhaps it was her natural beauty that made Danes perfect for her role as the occasionally plain CIA agent with the need for blending in while visting inhospitable places like Beirut and Iraq.
