Actress Anne Hathaway swapped vows with boyfriend Adam Shulman in California last month, looking both lovely (thanks to a custom Valentino gown) and semi-homely (due to a rather unfortunate bandage-like headpiece).

The paparazzi snapped some far-away photos of the nuptials, and Hathaway is now selling the professionally-shot official pictures -- but she won't be lining her own pockets with the proceeds.

Since Hathaway has a gay brother, she's sensitive to the fact that not all people are legally allowed to tie the knot, so she's doing the standup thing and donating cash from the wedding photo sales to charities including same-sex marriage advocacy group Freedomtomarry.org.

"In my household, being gay was, and is, no big deal ... I don't consider myself just an ally to the LGBT community, I consider myself your family," she said.

"And so, I'm doing what we should all do with our families -- I'm loving you, I support you, I completely accept you as you are, as I hope you do me," she added. "And if anyone tries to hurt you, I'm going to give them hell."

That Nobel Peace Prize-style speech just about made us weep.

Gay marriage advocates aren't the only ones who'll get a windfall thanks to the erstwhile Catwoman's generosity -- other beneficiaries include the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Girl Effect.
