‘Rocky V’ Star Tommy Morrison Dead at 44
Tommy Morrison, best known for his work in 1990's 'Rocky V' alongside Sylvester Stallone has died at the age of 44 due to complications with AIDs yesterday (September 1) in Nebraska.
He was also a former heavyweight boxing champion nicknamed "The Duke," defeating George Foreman in 1993.
Morrison's death was confirmed to TMZ by his boxing promoter Tony Holden, who said his friend and employer had been in and out of the hospital for several months with an unspecified illness. (Unspecified because he refused to say what said illness was.)
In 1996, the boxer's career ended when he tested positive for HIV, but he refused to confirm that he had the disease, claiming the test was false.
He is survived by his wife who was with him at the time of his passing.
