Songstress Taylor Swift's breakup with boyfriend Conor Kennedy, announced last week, was rife with talk of an amicable split brought on by the stresses of a long-distance relationship.

Well, you knew that old line couldn't be true. New reports claim Taylor scared Kennedy off by getting too serious, too fast. Shocking.

All joking aside, a few months into a relationship is generally too soon to be making plans for the future (at least not out loud), and it was such talk that supposedly made the 18-year-old high school student leave a him-shaped hole in the nearest exit door.

A source told Radar Online, “Taylor is looking for her soulmate and it kind of freaked him out with how strong she came on.”

"Taylor is love crazy and loves living vicariously through other people's love stories. She sincerely wants to find the person that she is supposed to spend the rest of her life with," the snitch said. "But unfortunately, she thinks every man that gives her butterflies is that person."

The (probably dubious) source went to on say that "Taylor is obsessed with the Kennedys and was living out a fairytale with Conor," using the American royal family to act out a fantasy of hers. Although doing so with a clan known for its bad juju doesn't seem like such a "fantasy" to us.

Taylor. Sweetheart. You're in your early 20s. This is the time you should be out enjoying your freedom. Stop trying to find "the one" and have a few ill-advised flings you're too embarrassed to write hit songs about.

Or keep looking for Price Charming. As they say, fourteenth time's the charm.
