Robby Soave’s Ex-Wife Carrie Responds to His Engagement — No Mic Drop, Not Petty, All Class
Some people clap back. Others walk away. Carrie Soave? She quietly reminds us what grace looks like.
The former wife of The Hill's Rising host Robby Soave has broken her silence following his engagement to Jie Jung Shih — and while plenty of people online rushed to comment, Carrie offered something far more rare: perspective.
“I don’t know why this conversation is occurring, because it isn’t important,” she told The Daily Mail on July 29. “This only registered in my life to the extent that people in it… did not want to see me hurt by anything further with regard to that situation.”
Translation? She’s choosing peace, not pettiness.
No Bitterness, Just Boundaries
In a powerful, grounded statement, Carrie made it clear: she’s not interested in throwing shade. But she is protecting her truth.
“For me, the saddest part about this story is that the conversation surrounding it was very hurtful to a lot of people who had nothing to do with it,” she said. “For that pain, I am very sorry. I firmly believe that people should be defined by their actions and how they regard others, and not by sexual preference."
Let’s be clear: she’s not here for clout — just honesty.
“I’m not someone who needs attention and external validation to prove that I am important,” she continued. “The love I have in my life is very real, and the things in it are very fulfilling.”
Honestly? A masterclass in handling public mess with private strength.
On Hurt, Healing, and Moving On
Carrie didn’t pretend it was easy. She acknowledged that divorce is hard, but it doesn’t have to destroy you.
“Hurt is real. So is healing,” she wrote. “Divorce is a difficult thing, but it doesn’t have to be devastating when you have love and strength behind you.”

Her message to anyone still in the thick of it? You can come out the other side stronger — and with way more clarity.
“I am happy that that chapter in my life is closed, and I’m enjoying the new one I’m in. I don’t need anything else from the world because I already have the people and the things I need to feel whole. For me, that is a true blessing.”
Meanwhile, Robby’s Living His Italian Romance
Robby, 36, announced his engagement to Shih earlier this month after a trip to Sicily.
“Some personal news from my Sicily trip earlier this month, in case anyone missed it: I got engaged!” he posted on X (formerly Twitter), alongside a smiling selfie with Shih flashing his ring.
The engagement comes about a year after his divorce from Carrie was finalized. The two were together for nearly a decade.
While Robby may have put a ring on it, Carrie gave us something far more meaningful: self-respect, perspective, and proof that the high road is still undefeated.
