Jay-Z Has No Qualms Texting Barack Obama, But Won’t Intervene With Rihanna + Chris Brown
Jay-Z is a busy guy. He's got Presidents of the United States to text. He doesn't have time for Chris Brown and Rihanna's adolescent drama. And he said so quite plainly.
Hov dropped a bunch of truth bombs in an interview with Hot 97 (via CNN and Hollywood Life), answering quite candidly about his relationship with a certain Barack Obama -- one that he referenced in tracks like 'Open Letter' and 'On to the Next One.'
"Yeah, I've spoken to him on the phone and had texts from Obama, of course," he said Wednesday, before catching himself being too cocky.
He quickly apologized for sounding so snobby (we don't blame him) and added, "Yes, that's happened."
As for what they talk about? Sports. "I don't know if this is like breaching national security, but he was like -- when he was getting elected the second time -- he was like 'Hey, you know, fourth quarter, just give me the ball.' I said 'word'."
While Jay may be skilled at talking to politicians, don't expect him to get involved with relationship politics between Breezy and RiRi. Ain't no one got time for that.
"That's not my place [to interfere]," Jay told Hot 97′s The Angie Show. "I can't control the outcome of her life. I can't intervene."
Hov continued, "I can give advice, if asked, you know, and that's it. I can provide information, and then life has to play out. Life has to happen."
What's more, he just can't keep up with their drama. He put it simply, "I don't have enough time in the day to invest in it."
