Before that video of her twerking out at a nearby gym went viral, Amanda Bynes -- hoping to prove her sanity to the world -- sat down with gossip rag InTouch for a tell-all interview.

Maybe the New York Times was just busy.

“I have no clue [why people say I’m insane]. Every time I’ve heard it, it came from an ugly person’s mouth, so I don’t care,” Bynes told the mag, choosing the exact same words Winston Churchill once said to Roosevelt.

“The only ones lying about me having a mental illness are people I don’t talk to.”

And if you'd like to be friends with Amanda, you better be genetically inclined, because her posse is beautiful. “I only have hot friends,” she says. “They have my back until I die.”

Until she dies or becomes ugly, we assume. But that will never happen anyway.

As for the talk about drug and alcohol addiction, she's okay there, too, saying, “I don’t drink. I’m allergic to alcohol." That's not too far fetched. But what about that suspicious cigarette she was spotted with? She says that wasn't wacky tobacky -- just, you know, regular tobacky.

She also explained her eclectic look, including her hair extensions and microdermal piercings. The piercings, she says, came from a desire to look mimic Blac Chyna, a stripper and aspiring musician. (We all need role models, and Amanda has been photographing her boobs a lot as of late.)

And the hair? She says she had to take clippers to her locks after a botched dye job, adding, "It’s so annoying to have no hair at 27. I have extensions that I love but I miss my own hair."

Maybe it's Blac Chyna who also gives rise to her musical aspirations, because Amanda's also still interested in cutting an album.“I love singing and I can’t wait to start working on an album,” she says.

But perhaps most troubling is what she revealed about weight. She's been candid about an eating disorder and body issues in the past -- so when the already slender Bynes says she likes being 100 pounds and has 21 to lose, we get worried.

Here's the Bynes golden rule we'd propose: More selfies, fewer diets.
