Alec Baldwin pulled a total Chris Brown on Twitter late last night (June 27), ranting at Daily Mail writer George Stark before deleting his account after Stark wrote an article alleging that Baldwin's pregnant wife Hilaria was tweeting during James Gandolfini's funeral.

The original article claims that during the service, Hilaria was tweeting about Rachel Ray and anniversary presents -- not taking into account that Twitter posts can be scheduled, timestamps are shown in your personal time zone, and maybe Hilaria's people have access to her account as well.

Stark's name has since been removed as the writer of the article, perhaps because winter is coming for him. (That one was for you, 'Game of Thrones' fans.)

In an expletive-filled rant that spanned over half an hour, Baldwin attacked Stark, threatening to tweet at his funeral, shove his foot up his ass, and other choice words which were saved in screenshot form -- all in the name of defending his wife's honor.

Alec also said he fired his publicist, and then he proceeded to delete his Twitter account in a  fit of Baldwin-esque rage. (And you thought his Shia LaBeouf-related slapfights were bad.)

Meanwhile, his wife also had a few choice words about the article, but she seemed more hurt and less likely to turn into a giant green rage monster.

Seems to be a rough week for Daily Mail writers. Just a couple days ago, Rihanna took another one to task, calling her "a sad sloppy menopausal mess" after the journalist said the singer is a terrible role model for young girls.

Regardless, Baldwin's publicist Matthew Hiltzik (who, despite Alec's claims, says he still reps the '30 Rock' star) issued this statement on Friday morning:

"It is disgraceful that this reporter manufactured a story and never called for comment or explanation -- especially when it needlessly diverted attention away from a day to honor the memory of a beloved figure like Mr. Gandolfini."
