Then + Now: Keith Coogan from ‘Adventures in Babysitting’
Keith Coogan was a mainstay of late '80s and early '90s movies, first catching our eye -- and stealing our hearts -- in 'Adventures in Babysitting.' But what's our former crush up to these days?
The grandson of legendary actor Jackie Coogan, Keith Coogan landed on the scene in 1981, providing voice work for Disney's 'The Fox and the Hound' before snagging a role in the 1987 classic 'Adventures in Babysitting.' Later, he popped up in 'Toy Soldiers' and 'In the Army Now.'
You also probably saw him as slacker brother Kenny in 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead' (he had a real thing for babysitter movies, right?), where he gave us the memorable and eternally quotable line, "The dishes are done, man."
Coogan's career cooled and tapered off throughout the '90s, until he took a break from the biz altogether in 2001. He returned in 2008 with a short film project he directed called 'The Keith Coogan Experience,' and in 2010, he started the 'Monologue a Day Project,' in which he learned a new monologue every day and posted it to his blog -- inspired in part by the film 'Julie and Julia.'
These days he hosts a podcast about entertainment, news and politics.
