Back When Snoop Lion Was Known as Snoop Dogg, He Was Also a Full-Fledged Pimp
Pimpin' ain't easy, but it ain't that hard, either.
Back in 2003, well before his transformation into Rastafarian icon Snoop Lion, Snoop Dogg was a self-proclaimed pimp. But unlike a lot of his rapper cohorts, Snoop actually was a literal pimp, gathering and selling women and their, um, "services" to other celebs.
"I put an organization together," Snoop told Rolling Stone (via Yahoo). "I did a Playboy tour, and I had a bus follow me with ten b----es on it. I could fire a b----, f--- a b---, get a new ho: It was my program. City to city, t---y to t---y, hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer."
How did it work?
"If I'm in a city where where the Denver Broncos or the Nuggets play, I get a couple of they players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number," he says. "A lot of athletes bought p---y from me."
What sets Snoop apart from other pimps? He let the girls keep all the cash. What a mensch!
"I'd act like I'd take the money from the b----, but I'd let her have it," he said. "It was never about the money; it was about the fascination of being a pimp ... as a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and b----es to match. I said, 'F--- it -- I'm finna do it.'"
And yes, Snoop is still married in spite of all the ladies he loved, lost and lent. "My wife had to take a backseat to this s---," he admitted. "And I love her to this day because she coulda shook out on a n---a, but she stayed in my corner. So when I decided to let it go, she was still there."
Snoop's wife Shante Broadus proves that true love never dies. Especially if you can afford hefty courses of antibiotics.
