Trend Watch: Rachel Weisz, Ashley Greene + More Don Denim Jackets [PHOTOS]
A denim jacket is a three-season item -- it can be worn in spring, summer and fall as an added layer and to keep warm when there's an unexpected chill or a temperature dip even in hot months. Overall, nothing pulls a summer look together quite like it.
Celebs have been wearing them in a variety of lengths -- usually cropped -- as well as in all sorts of different washes. Denim-on-denim works, as long as the wearer follows a simple golden rule: variation. If the jacket and the bottoms are of varying shades and washes, and punctuated by other colors and fabrics, it's all good in the jean jacket hood.
The Oscar winner was seen walking with her young son, topping a dark dress and tan sandals with a medium wash jacket that hit at the waist and had slightly long sleeves. The styling was casual, crisp and polished.
The 'Twilight' star dressed up her simple, medium-to-dark wash, cuffed sleeve jacket with a structured purple bag. It was a breezy yet cute look when passing through the airport. More importantly, it didn't resemble the dreaded Canadian tuxedo, since she mixed it with darker skinnies.
Those actin' Ashleys love denim. The Pretty Little Liars star donned leather leggings and oxblood Doc Marten combat boots. It was a tough presentation overall, but the cropped, stone-washed, almost grey jean jacket (and white tee) added some needed softness.
The model and mom mixed masculine and feminine when she paired her jean jacket with a floral leg-flaunting dress and cowboy booties. She was chic and effortlessly fab -- and this look is simple to copy.
The R&B crooner is infinitely stylish, even when he's super casual. He wore a denim jacket with rain boots and cargo pants here, but he was pulled together -- mainly because of that jacket.
The country singer paired her Daisy Duke short shorts with a graphic tee, a statement necklace, aqua cowboy boots and a nipped denim jacket with rolled-up sleeves, so it didn't get in the way of her guitar playin'. It was country cool for sure. It's also another style that's simple to replicate.
