Telegram Founder’s ‘Baby Bonus': Billionaire Plans to Leave Fortune to His 106 Kids
Telegram co-founder and billionaire Pavel Durov is taking "dad energy" to dynasty levels.
The controversial tech mogul revealed he plans to leave his $17.1 billion fortune to his 106 children—and no, that’s not a typo.
In a recent chat with French outlet Le Point, Durov confirmed his plans via (what else?) a Telegram post, explaining he wants to pass on his wealth exclusively to "those who carry my genes."
So yes, being a part of the family group chat literally pays. Durov, who has six biological children, also revealed he’s acted as a sperm donor for 100+ others.

What started as a favor for a friend turned into something of a legacy-building side hustle.
"I want to specify that I make no difference between my children. There are those who were conceived naturally and those who come from my sperm donations. They are all my children and will all have the same rights!" Durov told the outlet.
But the cash isn’t coming right away. His heirs won't see their inheritance until June 19, 2055—30 years from the date of his interview.
That’s part of Durov’s plan to make sure they don’t just coast through life on a pile of crypto and encrypted messages.
"I want them to live like normal people, to build themselves up alone, to learn to trust themselves, to be able to create—not to be dependent on a bank account," he explained.

While Durov builds his own real-life royal family, Telegram—the app he founded in 2013—isn’t exactly scandal-free.
Known for its privacy and encryption, the platform has drawn scrutiny from law enforcement agencies worldwide.
In August 2024, French authorities formally charged Durov with allegedly being complicit in hosting illegal content on the app, including child abuse material, drug trade activity, and fraud.
So basically: be born, and be lucky. It’s not quite succession, but it’s succession-adjacent.
