Ryan Reynolds Marries Blake Lively in Low-Profile Style
Ryan Reynolds is not one for splashy Hollywood weddings. When he tied the knot with Scarlett Johansson in 2008, it was done so quietly that when the pair divorced two years later, many people didn't even know they'd been married.
Now he's pulled off the seemingly impossible feat of marrying yet another celeb under the radar of the paparazzi, swapping vows with 'Gossip Girl' star Blake Lively on Sunday.
The 'Green Lantern' co-stars had been dating for about a year when they wed at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., just outside of Charleston. Bette Midler sang at the ceremony, and at the reception that followed, Lively's friend Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine) performed for guests that included family and friends like famed shoe designer Christian Louboutin.
Local radio station 95.1 FM was the first to break the story, with the station's Kelly Gukanovich telling E! News, "I am being told there were around 60 people at the event and that a local restaurant may have catered it. Ryan has always loved it here and when he got together with Blake, he started to bring her here, too."
It was the second marriage for the Canadian-born Reynolds, 35, and the first for 25-year-old Lively, who previously had high-profile relationships with Leonardo DiCaprio and her 'Gossip Girl' co-star Penn Badgley.
