Nicki Minaj Responds to DJ Khaled’s Proposal With an Alleged Restraining Order
In a bizarre and creepy turn of events, DJ Khaled proposed to Nicki Minaj (who wasn't even in the room) during a recent appearance on MTV, complete with a $500K engagement ring. Now Minaj might have responded -- by slapping him with a restraining order.
Except probably not.
Khaled suggested they tie the knot because they're both compatible and "suffering from success" -- which just so happens to be the title of his new album, out in September. It should also be noted that Minaj and Khaled are hardly strangers. They're label mates (both are signed to Lil Wayne's YMCMB label) who've been working on several projects together recently.
But possible publicity stunts aside, we imagine Nicki found this video as uncomfortable as the rest of us because she allegedly called the police for back up.
Please take note of the word "allegedly" and hold it close to your heart here. You may need it.
"I want to marry her! I was serious," Khaled later told Us Weekly. "She can take her time and think about it. At least she knows how I feel now."
Sources close to the situation say that Minaj filed a restraining order in New York against Khaled, who in the past has sent her flowers and gifts in addition to randomly showing up while she's on tour around the country.
Khaled, though, says the restraining order story is just a rumor and the love of his life would never do that to him. Backing him up is Hollywood Life, which says the NYPD has no such order on file.
If the rumors are true? It'll certainly put a damper on their engagement.
