Lady Gaga Makes Her Triumphant Return to the Stage … At a Bar in New York
Lady Gaga had to bail on a grand scale world tour after an injury that required hip surgery, but she's getting right back on the performing horse.
But that horse isn't quite as big now. Think more pony-sized.
Mother Monster took the stage at Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel in her native New York City on Thursday (May 9), during which Gaga performed a duet of 'Someone to Watch Over Me' with jazz singer Brian Newman.
Newman, who's performed with Gaga numerous times in the past, was pretty stoked to have the Lady back:
The stripped-down performance is likely a far cry from the attention-starved stunts Gaga usually pulls in her live shows and public appearances -- and it was probably refreshing to hear that she's getting back to work.
There's no word on how she arrived at the venue (golden chariot, perhaps?), but it's safe to assume if she rolled up in an egg again, she'd have ruined the surprise. In fact, the most shocking thing Gaga can do anymore is to remain low-key.
We're on to her.
