Dalton Knecht didn't come to play, well, he did, and he showed out as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns 128-122.

The rookie scored 35 points, scooped seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the preseason game on Oct. 17 (Thur).

Knecht rescued the Lakers, scoring 20 of the teams final 22 points, forcing the Suns into overtime.

Flexing his skill on the court, the NBA newcomer managed to hit two three-pointers over 7'3" powerhouse center Bol Bol.

Knecht even earned some praise from teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis when he hit the game-tying three-pointer, causing the veteran duo to leap off the bench.

Knecht was the No. 17 pick in the 2024 NBA draft, and so far is earning his spot on the team, and the respect of his teammates.

LeBron has a lot to look forward to going into this season, as his son, Bronny James, is joining him on the court.

The 19-year-old was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 55th overall pick during the second round of the NBA draft on June 27 (Thur).

Bronny is the oldest of Lebron's three children, and is entering the league after only one season at the University of Southern California.

The athletes will make history as the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time.

"Now they are teammates on the Lakers!," the NBA wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
