Chicago Bears’ Shane Waldron Sacked, Offensive Coordinator Fired as Rookie QB Caleb Williams Flounders
Shane Waldron is out as offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.
Waldron has had a tough time this season as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams continues to flounder.
The Bears (4-5) have lost their last three games, and scored only 27 points total during those outings.
This past weekend, the Bears endured a devastating 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots.
Passing game coordinator Thomas Brown will take over for Waldron, according to ESPN.

“After evaluating our entire operation, I decided that it is in the best interest of our team to move in a different direction with the leadership of our offense. This decision was well-thought-out, one that was conducted deliberately and respectfully,” Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said in a statement.
“I would like to thank Shane for his efforts and wish him the best moving forward," he continued.
Eberflus then praised Brown as the Bears gear up for eight more games this season, in which they will need to clinch some victories in order to keep their postseason hopes alive.
"Thomas is a bright offensive mind who has experience calling plays with a collaborative mindset. I look forward to his leadership over our offensive coaching staff and his plan for our players," he added.
This was Waldron's first season with the Bears. He previously served as the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator for three seasons.
