Chappell Roan’s ‘The Giver’ Lyrics Explained: She Gets the Job Done
Chappell Roan has FINALLY given us what we wanted—Her country bop "The Giver."
Last year, Roan debuted the new song during her appearance on Saturday Night Live, leaving fans craving more.
"The Giver" is true to form for the singer, addressing girls loving girls, female sexuality, and enjoying good ol' dive bars.
Roan revealed she wrote the country song because she "thought it would be funny," describing the catchy tune as "campy and fun."
"I'm from southwest Missouri. Grew up on Christian and country, and then found ‘Alejandro’ by Lady Gaga and I was like, ‘I think I like this, too.’ So, I have kept country in my heart. And it's so incredibly nostalgic to drive in West Hollywood and [play] Jason Aldean or Alan Jackson’s ‘Chattahoochee,’" Roan, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, recently said, reported E! News.
In the new song, Roan sings about getting "the job done," leaving little to the imagination about what she's referring to.

The reigning Best New Artist Grammy winner also has no problem letting country boys know she does it better, seemingly referring to the bedroom.

Ain't got antlers on the walls
But I sure know mating calls
From the stalls in the bars on a Friday night
And other boys may need a map
But I can close my eyes
And have you wrapped around my fingers like that
So, baby
When you need the job done
You can call me, baby
'Cause you ain't got to tell me
It's just in my nature
So take it like a taker, 'cause, baby, I'm a giver
Ain't no need to hurry, 'cause, baby, I deliver
Ain't no country boy quitter
I get the job done
I get the job done
Girl, I don't need no lifted truck
Revvin' loud to pick you up
'Cause how I look is how I touch
And in this strip-mall town of dreams
Good luck finding a man who has the means
To rhinestone cowgirl all night long
So, baby
If you never had one
You can call me, baby
'Cause you ain't gotta tell me
It's just in my nature
So take it like a taker, 'cause, baby, I'm a giver
Ain't no need to hurry, 'cause, baby, I deliver
Ain't no country boy quitter
I get the job done
I get the job done
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na-na (She gets the job done)
All you country boys saying you know how to treat a woman right
(Na-na na-na na-na-na-na, na-na na-na na-na-na-na)
Well, only a woman knows how to treat a woman right (Na-na na-na na-na-na-na, na-na-na)
She gets the job done
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na (She gets the job done)
Na-na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na-na
'Cause you ain't gotta tell me
It's just in my nature
So take it like a taker, 'cause, baby, I'm a giver
Ain't no need to hurry, 'cause, baby, I deliver
Ain't no country boy quitter
I get the job done
I get the job done
I get the job done
I get the job done
Well, I get the job done
Yes ma'am, yes, I do
You're welcome
