If you didn't know a cute photo of a celebrity couple could result in death threats, you didn't see what happened to pint-sized actress Ellen Page and her Swedish co-star/boyfriend Alexander Skarsgard this weekend.

The photo was posted by the director of their film 'The East,' Zal Batmanglij, who probably thought the cute snap would be a good way to promote the flick. He just had no idea it would incite bloodlust in Alexander's rabid fan base.

Unfortunately it spurred admirers to send death threats to Page, with one nut job tweeting:

"I’m going to murder Ellen Page. She’s dead."

And another posted the missive:

"Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year... Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you’re signing autographs."

Because offing the girlfriend of the celebrity you love will make them love you right back, right? Everyone knows that.

Jesus, guys. Pump the brakes. What did poor little Juno ever do to you?
