As much as we’ve wanted to shake her for some of her recent choices, we were actually quite charmed by Rihanna at the 2013 Grammys. She stepped out in a gorgeous red dress on the red carpet. Then, once LL Cool J tried to break a record for saying “hashtag” the most times ever, she took the stage.

After the glory of Justin Timberlake's return to the stage and the explosiveness of the Maroon 5/Alicia Keys mash-up, Rihanna’s performance of ‘Stay’ was a bit sleepy. It’s a beautiful song, but the dark stage and soothing melody made us feel like curling up and taking a nap.

However, she was clearly Alicia Keys' on-fire girl and pairing her with Mikky Ekko for the song was genius. They blended well and his voice was a great highlight for hers. We have to admit, she was present for every moment of the song and her voice was flawless, with none of the over-staged embarrassment Taylor Swift and fun. had to endure. (Although RiRi did occasionally kind of look like she'd eaten some bad sushi.)

If we hadn’t dozed off, we might have even stood up for her at the end. She did earn a standing ovation from boyfriend Chris Brown, but that might have been because he felt like throwing his chair. You can never tell with him.
