Then + Now: The Cast of ‘The All New Mickey Mouse Club’
Before Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato or the Jonas Brothers, there were Britney, Christina, Justin, JC, Ryan, Nikki and Keri. 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' was a breeding group for teen pop stars in the '90s, especially in seasons 6 and 7, and the show set Disney's bar pretty high for manufactured musicians and actors.
Some were able to break the Disney stigma. Some suffered for it. Some went on to superstardom, some fizzled out and some fell somewhere in between. See where the stars of 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' are now!
Christina Aguilera
Then: Before 'Genie in a Bottle' and a press-created rivalry with fellow MMC member Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera rocked the floral-denim combo while she sang and danced with the best of 'em on seasons 6 and 7.
Now: Aguilera's been through a number of image phases as she grew up, ranging from 'Dirrty' to burlesque to fierce. She was married, divorced and became a mom. In terms of her career, after her most recent effort, 'Lotus,' failed to make much of a chart impact, the petite songbird with the powerhouse pipes went back to coaching 'The Voice' -- and nagging Adam Levine!
Lindsey Alley
Then: Lindsey Alley started her career as Patsy in 'Ernest Saves Christmas' in 1988 before becoming a Mouseketeer in 1989. She stayed with the show until it was cancelled in 1996.
Now: Alley went on to graduate high school in Lakeland, Fla., in 1996, then attended the University of Missouri, where she earned a B.A. in theatre. Since then, she's starred in her own one-woman play, 'Look Ma ... No Ears!' and has nabbed an Ovation Award nod for her role in the play 'Having It All.'
Rhona Bennett
Then: Rhona Bennett appeared on seasons 4 through 7 of 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club.'
Now: Rhona went on to star in the 'Emerald Cove' spinoff dramedy of 'MMC' before moving to California to pursue acting. She landed roles in 'Living Single,' 'Martin,' 'Homeboys in Outer Space' and 'The Jamie Foxx Show.' Rhona released her debut album, 'Rhona,' through Darkchild Entertainment in 2001, then joined En Vogue from 2003 to 2008 before going solo again ... then rejoining En Vogue for their 2012 tour.
JC Chasez
Then: JC Chasez got groomed to sing, dance and spread his wholesome good looks (even if they came with questionable fashion choices and a regrettable haircut). He parlayed that success into a boy band career in 'N SYNC with fellow MMC star Justin Timberlake.
Now: After a solo career failed to make much of a mark (but good luck getting 'Some Girls Dance With Women' out of your head once you hear it), Chasez is still focusing on song and dance. He wrote and produced songs for everyone from British girl group Girls Aloud to 'N SYNC rivals the Backstreet Boys and served as a judge on 'America's Best Dance Crew' for its entire duration.
Ashlee Nicole 'Nikki' DeLoach
Then: Nikki DeLoach was the leader of the pack for 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' seasons 6 and 7. She even dated JC Chasez for a long time, with 'N SYNC thanking her as her childhood nickname Peaches in the liner notes of their debut record.
Now: DeLoach and Chasez have since split, but she's still got those bangs! DeLoach returned to her local high school briefly after 'MMC' was cancelled, then joined girl group Innosense, managed by Justin Timberlake's mom. The group opened for 'N SYNC in 1997 but failed to make much of an impact by the time they broke up in 2003. DeLoach then pursued an acting career. She's had bit parts in shows you've probably seen, including 'Days of Our Lives,' 'CSI' and 'CSI: NY,' as well as movies, including 'The House Bunny' and 'Love and Other Drugs.' She's currently still acting, starring as Lacey Hamilton on MTV's 'Awkward,' as well as gunning for a sociology degree through online classes at UCLA. DeLoach married boy band Take 5 member Ryan Gooddell and is expecting their first baby this October.
Dale Godbolo
Then: Dale Godbolo starred on 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' from 1991 to 1995.
Now: Since his 'MMC' tenure, Godbolo has appeared in 'Moesha,' 'Goode Behavior,' 'Mad About You,' 'ER,' 'Caroline in the City,' 'The Drew Carey Show,' 'Commander in Chief' and more TV shows, as well as in movies like 'Lakeview Terrace' and 'The Sum of All Fears.' And he still has the same face!
Ryan Gosling
Then: Ryan Gosling was roommates with 'All-New Mickey Mouse Club' castmate Justin Timberlake, and he rocked a Zack Morris-type look. Check out that hair and that mug!
Now: Gosling went on to star in another '90s kid staple, 'Are You Afraid of the Dark,' as well as a slew of other family-friendly fare before taking a dark turn as a Jewish neo-Nazi in 2001's 'The Believer.' He served as an indie darling until 2004, when he broke into the mainstream with 'The Notebook' alongside then-girlfriend Rachel McAdams. From 2006 to 2007, Gosling earned Oscar and Golden Globes nods for star turns in 'Half Nelson' and 'Lars and the Real Girl.' He took a self-imposed acting hiatus from 2008 to 2011, during which he toured North America with his band, Dead Man's Bones. He got back into the movie game with 2011's 'Blue Valentine,' then went on to star in 'Crazy, Stupid Love,' 'The Ides of March' and 'Drive,' earning more Golden Globe nominations. And hey, girl -- if you're searching for him and can't find him onscreen, you can also see him as an accidental feminist icon all over the Internet.
Tony Lucca
Then: Tony Lucca thought he was auditioning for 'Newsies' but realized when he was performing that it was actually an 'All-New Mickey Mouse Club' audition instead. He stuck around from season 4 to season 7.
Now: Once 'MMC' ended, Lucca pursued acting in Los Angeles with then-girlfriend Keri Russell. He released numerous albums independently, even working with JC Chasez. After touring with 'N SYNC, Sara Bareilles and more, Tony was a finalist on 'The Voice' -- and a headache for coach and former castmate Aguilera, implying that she had a grudge against him dating back to their 'MMC' days. Lucca, apparently egged on by rival coach Adam Levine, and Aguilera each took shots at one another throughout the season before kissing and making up later on.
Keri Russell
Then: The curly-cued beauty was one of the big kids, starring on 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' for seasons 5 and 6.
Now: Russell went on to star in 'Felicity' from 1998 to 2002, causing pretty much a national emergency when she cut off her trademark curly mane. Since then, Russell has appeared in movies including blockbusters like 'Mission: Impossible III' and indie flicks like 'Waitress.' The beauty, who straightens her signature curls more often than not lately, currently stars on FX's 'The Americans.'
Britney Spears
Then: Britney Spears cozied up to Justin Timberlake and was BFFs with Christina Aguilera on seasons 6 and 7.
Now: She dated and dumped Justin Timberlake, became the best-selling teenage artist of all time before turning 20, nabbing a Grammy, a Lifetime Achievement Award VMA, nine Billboard Music Awards, a stint on 'X Factor,' a few husbands, two sons, a breakdown, a conservatorship and a Las Vegas residency. If any of her peers want to compare, they better work, bitch.
Justin Timberlake
Then: The adorbs JT starred in seasons 6 and 7 of the series alongside future girlfriend Britney Spears, future tourmate Christina Aguilera and future feminist icon Ryan Gosling.
Now: Oh, you know. Just fronting then leaving 'N SYNC, winning Grammys, getting MTV Video Music Awards tributes in his honor, starring in movies, touring with Jay-Z, killing it regularly on 'SNL' and being married to Jessica Biel. Basically, Justin Timberlake went from curly-topped cutie in the MMC to Hollywood Renaissance man. Bow.
