A father's heartbreak!

Rapper Mack Maine is mourning the death of his son, Isaiah “Zeke” Preyan, who died after suffering a seizure on July 16. He was 20.

In a devastating Instagram post shared Monday (July 28), the Young Money president said he was still “in shock” over the loss.

“Still confused, still questioning life and why my child and not me,” he wrote, alongside a series of personal photos of his son.

Fatherhood, Purpose, and Pain

“Zeke, I thank you for granting me with one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received — fatherhood,” he continued.

The experience and bond with you brought me purpose.

Mack Maine — born Jermaine Anthony Preyan — said that while he was Zeke’s father “in the flesh,” his son has now “ascended to rejoin OUR Father God in the spirit… like his grandfather (my dad) and his grandmother.”

He added: “This is a pain I’ve personally never felt before, but I’m still trusting and believing in God’s plan.”

Remembering Zeke

The "Steady Mobbin" rapper shared photos of his son playing music, holding an “LSU Bound” sign, and posing with a few of Mack Maine’s famous friends, including Drake and Swizz Beatz.

“You were my biggest inspiration and motivation… my reason I got out of the bed when everyone else snoozed,” he wrote.

A Bittersweet Birthday

The tribute came on Mack Maine’s own birthday — the same day his father passed away two years earlier.

“They said God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers but…” he wrote, trailing off with two upside-down smile emojis.

He ended the post with a deeply personal birthday request: “Hug the ones you love and squeeze 'em tight… If you can’t hug ’em, call ’em to tell them you love them.”

Chosen Family Love

Support from the music and sports world poured in.

“This can’t be real. You guys raised the most incredible young man… We are praying for your whole family,” Nicki Minaj wrote.

2 Chainz added, “Bru I’m so sorry to hear this. Praying for you and the fam. I love ya, bru.”

“Love! I’ll be praying for u,” Deion Sanders Jr. simply said.

Until We Meet Again

“To Zeke — I love you and I know I’ll see you again,” Mack Maine wrote in closing. “To my Pops — I know you met Zeke on the other side with open arms. I vow to continue to make y’all proud.”
