Ultimate Warrior Once Snubbed Ryan Gosling for an Autograph
Before he was a household name, Ryan Gosling was a wrestling fan. As a child, the actor had a heartbreaking encounter with the Ultimate Warrior, which ended in Gosling being snubbed after he asked Warrior for an autograph.
Gosling told the story to The Hollywood Reporter a while back, explaining to his interviewer why it's not always a good idea to meet your heroes.
"Sometimes you meet your heroes and it's not great, like the Ultimate Warrior was my hero when as a kid, the first poster I ever had on my wall," Gosling said. "I waited for him outside the arena and I took my poster, I asked him for his autograph. He said, 'Not now, kid.' I just [ripped my poster up]. It was the worst."
Ultimate Warrior must have never seen Gosling in Are You Afraid of the Dark? Dude was in one of the best episodes ever -- 'The Tale of Station 109.1' -- featuring Gilbert fucking Gottfried.
Anyway, Ultimate Warrior certainly had a history of being cruel to his young fans. Bret Hart has a famous story in his autobiography about it. Warrior was also famously forced to make an apology video for another young fan who he snubbed for an autograph. You can watch behind-the-scenes clips from that apology below.
