Former 'Star Trek' cast member George Takei still thinks William Shatner is a giant jerk. Sulu revealed during the Jan. 17 episode of 'Watch What Happens Live' on Bravo that the original Starship Enterprise captain wasn't the easiest man to work with, and was even what some would refer to as a "douche."
Host Andy Cohen ignited the conversation when he read a fan question asking which 'Star Trek' member was the "biggest douche."
“Oh, well, I think most fans know,” Takei joked, laughing his infectious laugh.
When Cohen asked if it was Shatner, Takei laughed even harder, nodding his head in the affirmative while making sure we all knew he never said it out loud. “I didn't say anything,” he reminded Andy.
Cohen then asked how this douchiness manifested itself on-set, with Takei replying, “Well, he’s very self-possessed, self-involved, everything revolves around the captain.”
Takei then shared an on-set example of what would often happen during filming with another cast member: After Shatner would have a whispered talk with the director in a dark corner, the decision would be changed from filming a close-up of the other person speaking their lines to a close-up of Shatner reacting to said lines.
“Sometimes that happens, but it happens regularly and then it begins to be oh no,” he recalled.
