Chase Rice’s Independent Artist Struggle — Country Rebel Wants the ‘Best Music’ He’s Ever Made Heard
Chase Rice is determined to have what he dubs "the best music" he's ever made heard.
The country singer parted ways with Broken Row Records in June 2024, and although he has seen chart success with "Eyes on You," and "Drinkin' Beer. Talkin' God. Amen," he struggles to have his music heard as an independent artist.
"That has been the frustrating part of the last two years because it's the best music I've ever made. But the masses haven't heard it. They don't know it exists. So how do we get people to really believe what I'm doing? And the short answer for me is just keep doing it," he told People.
Rice continued, "You look at 'Ready, Set, Roll' and 'Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.' and all those songs that were hits for me back the day and it keeps me wondering why that is what people want to hear, as opposed to the more quality, better music that I'm making now?"
Although he admits he doesn't know exactly what it will take to break through again, he will not stop doing what he loves.
"I don't have an answer for that, but I'm not going to go back to what I was doing. This is who I am," the country singer added.

Rice released his first album as an independent artist, Go Down Singin', in September 2024. It was an 11-song tribute to his journey navigating the music industry.
The 39-year-old is expected to release his upcoming record Eldora this year and hopes his fans will be able to resonate with the "real," "well-written stories" on the album.
Rice is currently trekking the globe on his Go Down Singin' international tour.
