10 Celebrity Roommates Who Lived Together Before Hitting It Big

It's hard to imagine A-listers having roommates because, well, they're loaded. But when even the biggest stars on the planet were first starting out, they needed to split the rent and utilities -- and they had other future celebs to help.

Some of these cohabitations aren't too surprising, but others will leave you scratching your head and asking, "Them? Really? Why?" Take a gander at these pairings of pre-fame celeb roommates ... and silently curse your own for clogging the sink drain with hair you can't make a mint off of on eBay.

Matt Damon + Ben Affleck

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have been through it all together since they were kids in Boston, so of course they shared a space! And it turns out, they shared it with even more people while they wrote 'Good Will Hunting.' "We rented this house on the beach in Venice and 800 people came and stayed with us and got drunk," Affleck revealed. "Then we ran out of money and had to get an apartment."

Ryan Gosling + Justin Timberlake

Human perfection Ryan Gosling and Southern gentleman Justin Timberlake roomed together because, well, the universe wants our hearts and loins to explode. Timberlake quipped of their 'Mickey Mouse Club' tenure, "We lived together. We were 11, so we were partners in crime for a short amount of time." He added, "Aw, man, we were crazy. We like, skipped tutoring. Going to the park, to the 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' set," he laughed. "We'd have milkshakes. Oh, man, we were so gangster."

When Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez first moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and music, the two Texas natives had slumber parties pretty much every night. Gomez explained, "We didn't have that much money coming out here, so we were living together to share expenses. There were seven of us girls living in one loft, including sisters and moms and everything. It was really interesting."

Michael Douglas + Danny DeVito

When Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito first got into acting in the '60s, they shared an apartment in New York City on W. 89th Street, and they loved it. "Michael did the laundry," DeVito said of their time together. "She paid rent, and she was there probably three times," Symone told Us Weekly. "She had her clothes in the apartment we were supposed to live in together."

Justin Long roomed with Jonah Hill when they first moved to the Golden Coast, but not for long ... because Hill was way too messy. "We're still great friends but it got to be like an old married couple," Long revealed in 2009. "We fought over recycling. He would recycle everything.
