Oh, Lindsay Lohan. On Nov. 20, the "actress" turned up in a conundrum of a dress for the premiere of her Lifetime TV movie - don't call it a comeback - 'Liz & Dick,' in which she plays Elizabeth Taylor. The film may be billed as the "television event of the year," but it was not LiLo's fashion high watermark for 2012.

Here's what's right.

The color, the fabric and the back. The champagne hue, the silky-satiny texture and the delicate, low-cut back are absolutely breathtaking, especially when paired with those flame-hued locks. However, 9 out of 10 people aren't focused on the back of a dress.

Here's what wrong -- and pull up a chair, because we're gonna be here a while.

The accessories! Linds paired the frock with a fur stole, which are so not in vogue, and for a hot sec, it looks like she is carrying a brown bag in one shot. That's probably someone walking behind her, but still.

What, no gilded clutch? Come on. Was there a stylist involved here? If so, cut her loose for her indiscretions. All Lohan needed was a tiny clutch with some cash and lipstick, and that's it.

The front is also a train wreck. It's ill-fitting, giving LiLo a pot belly. And the cut outs, with the red drop gems? The fabric doesn't lay flat and is therefore unforgiving.

Also, while we love Lind's fiery hair, especially when it's so shiny and wavy, the side part looks messy. Given the gown's imperfections, a stick-straight look or an updo would have been simpler and more appropriate, and would have made the overall look more sleek.

Then there are the intangibles. Is it us or does La Lohan look uncomfortable? She's not posing with confidence, but with apprehension. That shows in her face, how the dress ripples, and how she stands.

We'll give her points for going Old Hollywood glam with the va-va-voom red lips. She could have easily tried to ape Liz Taylor and stay in character, but it was smart to try and be herself, even if the attempt failed. From the side and from a distance, she looks amazing. But beyond that? Very unkempt and unpolished.
