Taylor Swift wants the world to take her seriously as an artist and wants more attention paid to her music and less to her love life. Which, as a celebrity who collects boyfriends like some hoarders collect cats, just isn't happening.

A friend of T-Swizzle's says she has a tough skin and a sense of humor, and she expects the mockery that comes with being a public figure. But lately she's starting to wonder who's poking good-natured fun -- and who's actually serious

“Now she’s the butt of jokes on 'Saturday Night Live,' in the tabloids and on the late night shows. She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin,” a source told Radar Online.

Even though she should've noticed by now that her very public string of boyfriends (and penchant to write songs about them) isn't how most people conduct their lives, the jokes being made about her love life allegedly "embarrass her," and the situation has "finally hit home" with her.

“She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend," the insider says. "In a weird way all the negative press has really opened her eyes and will be good for her!”

Sounds like someone took Tina Fey's Golden Globes advice and is giving herself a little “me” time.

A break from throwing herself at men might also give her time to figure out who spilled this juicy tidbit to Radar: “Taylor is concerned that the public will think she’s a whore because she dates around, [so] she doesn’t put out. What she doesn’t get is that the guys keep dumping her because she’s being a prude.”

Man, it's so hard for a girl to find the right balance between "prude" and "whore" these days.
