2012 American Country Awards – Worst Dressed
The American Country Awards were held last night (Dec. 10) in Las Vegas and the attendees who made the Worst Dressed List weren't as bad as some we've seen at events in recent years, but there were few unflattering and sloppy choices that made us wonder if the wearers even glanced in a full-length mirror before leaving the hotel on the way to the fete.
Miranda Lambert isn't afraid to show off her curves (props for that), but this short, black and silver frock is way too busy. The long sleeves were too much; if this were a cap-sleeved dress and showed some to skin to break up the chaotic pattern, it might've had an entirely evolved look and landed her on a different list. Look at this dress for an extended period of time and you'll feel like you took a hit of acid.
Pop singer Natasha Bedingfield looks like she's wrapped in a shapeless swatch of spare Kermit the Frog fabric. It's unflattering in every way. That front slit is even pointless since she has no cleavage to show off. Drab, drab, drab.
Little Big Town singer Kimberly Schlapman has such a great figure -- but you wouldn't know it, thanks to the fact that she buried it in a silver gunny sack. It's gathered and adds girth to her hips and makes her look like a pear. It's such a shame that she chose to hide her bangin' bod like this.
Former 'American Idol' winner Scotty McCreery makes this list by virtue of the fact that he didn't bother to dress up. Normally, the country uniform of jeans, a button down and a leather jacket is more than appropriate, but we wish the sweet singer would've put in a little more effort and worn a suit. This is just glorified stage gear.
A similar rationale goes for Luke Bryan. The country cutie might have made the Best Dressed list if he'd just worn a black velvet blazer. The purple is a surprising choice, but when paired with all black, it completely loses its effect and almost clashes. His wife, though, is a stunner in emerald green. If he was in all-black, we'd be all kinds of "va va va voom!" about this good-looking pair.
