Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are obviously doing something right, because their daughter Willow knows just what she wants out of life.

The precocious singer who taught pre-teen girls everywhere how to whip their hair back and forth had very good reasons for dropping out of the remake of the musical 'Annie' -- she wanted nothing more than to just be the 12-year-old girl she is.

D'aw.

According to her father, "We got Jay-Z to do the movie, got the studio to come in and Willow had such a difficult time on tour with 'Whip My Hair' and she said, 'You know Daddy, I don't think so.'"

“I said, 'Baby, hold up! I said no, no, no, listen, you'll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyonce will be there. You will be singing and dancing,' and she looked at me and said, 'Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.'"

And unlike Dina and Michael Lohan, Will and Jada don't need to live vicariously through their daughter -- so Willow abandoned the 'Annie' project.

Parenting. The Smiths are doin' it right.
