The first promotion for the 85th Academy Awards features upcoming host Seth MacFarlane, who kicked off his official hosting duties on Jan. 10 by announcing the Oscar nominees alongside actress Emma Stone.

In the video, the host (dressed in a formal tuxedo complete with bow tie) introduces himself with the caveat, "Except guess what, I'm not Seth MacFarlane, I'm Daniel Day-Lewis. I'm just that good."

MacFarlane then smiles at the camera and his teeth sparkle thanks to the magic of CGI.

The Oscar promo teases Best Actor nominee Daniel Day-Lewis, who got so into character for his film 'Lincoln' that he even texted his co-stars in character. (Everyone knows Honest Abe had wicked wifi.)

The clip isn't as good as the ones Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been doing for this Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony, but hey -- pretty much no one can compete against that Dynamic Duo. Especially when they get to host a show wherein most of the attendees will likely be trashed.

When he was chosen to helm the Oscars, MacFarlane said, "My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors, and, two, I hope they don't find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen roast."

ABC has helpfully scheduled the Oscars to air on what the network has dubbed "Oscar Sunday" (good bit of coincidence, that) -- or Feb. 24.
