Sara Gilbert, former 'Roseanne' star and current co-host of 'The Talk,' brought some juicy gossip to the show's studio audience Monday, announcing her engagement to her singer/songwriter girlfriend Linda Perry.

Gilbert said that Perry popped the question "about a week ago" on a "magical and amazing" planned musical picnic. They were eating and listening to a musician in the park when things got real, People reports.

"The people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket, walk over and they start playing 'Love Song,'" Gilbert told the studio audience. The tune, performed by The Cure, was what the duo decided would be their song, because their other favorite, John Waite's 'Missing You,' is a breakup song.

"She goes to her backpack and she pulls out these T-shirts and the first T-shirt says 'will' and then she puts on another T-shirt and it says, 'you,' then 'marry,' 'me.' And the last one's a question mark," Gilbert said.

Then, after the excitement had calmed down, Perry brought out John Waite himself, who broke into 'Missing You' for Gilbert. "It's the most amazing proposal ever,"  she said.

She also thanked the audience and staff of the show for supporting her on the issue of gay rights.

Gilbert began seeing Perry last fall, and they continue to be one of the cutest couples ever. Just look at them.
