A while back, there were murmurings that some diva-licious sparring was already happening between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on the set of 'American Idol.' At the time, the public was given a gentle pat on the head and told that no, none of those rumors were true so we should just run along and play because, really, Mommy and Daddy still loved each other so everything was fine just fine.

But now there's video evidence to the contrary. It's on, y'all. It. Is. ON.

Our friends at TMZ got hold of footage showing Minaj losing what little mind she has and going on a rant aimed at Mariah after the two disagreed about a contestant audition in North Carolina on Tuesday. Veteran judge Randy Jackson tried to intervene, but his efforts were in vain.

The verbiage of the hissyfit is a little hard to make out (sometimes speaking voices are even more obnoxious than singing voices), so here's a helpful transcript:

Nicki: Get this s**t in self control. Get in control. Get in control.
Randy: Settle down, settle down.
Nicki: Don't lose your head. Don't lose your head (inaudible). Don't tell me I'm a gangster. (inaudible) every 5 minutes. So every time you patronize me, I'mma take it back, and if you've got a f**king problem, handle it. I told them I'm not f**kin' putting up with her f**king highness over there. Figure it the f**k out. Figure it out.
Mariah: Oh why, WHYYYY do I have a 3-year-old sitting around me?
Nicki: I'm not gonna sit here every f**king minute to have you come down and harass me every minute everyday.
Mariah: I can’t see my kids, because you decided to act like a little crazy bitch and go all around the stage.

While all this was going on, newly-appointed panelist Keith Urban's thoughtbubble was all "this nutty pink-haired broad finally came unhinged oh please God just let me make it home to my kids and my movie star wife without any bullet holes please God please."

Sources say producers quickly cut the auditions short so the two ladies could retreat to their respective corners for the day, but while this is making for some great pre-season buzz for 'Idol,' insiders reveal it might be more than anyone bargained for. The auditions are barely underway and Carey and Minaj are already at each other's throats, and although right now everything that makes it to air will be carefully edited, what will happen once the live broadcasts start?

In the words of the late ballbuster Bette Davis, "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."
