Why the interwebz seem so intent on killing off Morgan Freeman is beyond us. Without him, who'd narrate, you know, everything ever?

Two years ago, an idiot with too much free time on his hands tweeted, "RT @CNN: Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home<< wow legendary actor #RIPmorganfreeman." It was, of course, a complete fabrication, but that didn't stop hordes of other idiots from retweeting it anyway. Because verifying such things is so 2000 and late.

And now, thanks to a Facebook page titled 'R.I.P. Morgan Freeman,' the rumor has flown anew. But again, if the people weeping all over their 'Shawshank Redemption' DVDs had shown even the faintest signs of skepticism, they'd have noticed the page's description: "He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the internet." Hardee-har-har.

Freeman's rep told E! Online that the beloved 75-year-old actor is fine and "joins the long list of actors who have been victimized by this hoax."
