New husband, new hair.

Melissa Gilbert, best known for her role as Laura Ingalls, aka "Half Pint," on 'Little House on the Prairie,' married actor Timothy Busfield earlier this year. Now the 49-year-old actress has followed up that big life event with another: a drastic haircut.

She's showing off a new and much shorter 'do, as she chopped off her locks, fashioning them into a chin length bob that's super flattering.

The redhead, who is fondly remembered for her braided pigtails on the beloved family series, shared photos of the shearing on her Instagram feed. She posted several images of her freshly cut locks, paired with an ear-to-ear smile, writing, "Totally loving my new haircut!!"

We're going to have to agree, since the face-framing shape is super modern and the length is both summery and sassy. Plus, sideswept bangs are totally on trend.

Gilbert documented the process here (where you'll even see her ponytail after it was hacked off). And check out the shot of her grinning with some of her strands tucked behind her ear.

See how versatile it is? It's certainly a look to try, especially during the hot weather months.
