Leah Remini is standing firm on her exit from the Church of Scientology -- and she's not alone.

The 'King of Queens' starlet told PEOPLE that her blood is behind her in her decision to exit the controversial religion.

"We stand united, my family and I, and I think that says a lot about who we are, and what we're about," she said.

Some of Remini's words back prior rumors as to the reasoning behind her exit -- namely, accusations of being isolated from loved ones and a pretty damning comparison to Orwellian thought policing.

She expounded, "I believe that people should be able to question things. I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct. That for me, that's what I'm about."

Remini also told Us Weekly, "I think the fact that my family has taken a stance and we are on a united front says a lot."

The Church of Scientology told Us in response, "The Church respects the privacy of parishioners and has no comment about any individual Church member."

Still, Remini points out that it's not just Scientology that would face both her wrath and her walking away given the circumstances.

"It wouldn't matter what it was, simply because no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to," she noted.

"It doesn't matter, it could be anything. I thought about the family being broken up for some other cause, and I'm not about to shut up."
