During country star Kellie Pickler's rise to fame on 'American Idol' several years ago, her ditzy persona made many people question her intelligence. But if there's one thing you absolutely cannot question, it's her commitment to friendship -- especially after she shaved her head bald in a show of solidarity with her bestie who's battling breast cancer.

Pickler's BFF, Summer Holt Miller, was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. She's already undergone a double mastectomy and just started chemo, which will likely make her lose her hair, so she decided to just go ahead and shave it off.

But to make sure she didn't have to go through it alone, Pickler joined her -- and sacrificed her own long blonde locks in the process.

In a Sept. 5 appearance on ABC's 'Good Morning America,' Pickler said she did it to raise awareness of her friend's disease, and Miller, who's only 35, added, "If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it."

After seeing Pickler do the deed on 'GMA,' Ellen DeGeneres tweeted to her, "You have never looked more beautiful."

We couldn't agree more.
