Jay-Z and Beyonce celebrated five years of wedded bliss in Cuba last week, but that pesky Communist regime thing wound up garnering them a whole lot of criticism.

Hov and Bey hit up Havana with their moms, and this made a few people really unhappy -- namely, lobbyists who want attention for their pet causes.

Mauricio Claver-Carone, the director of the U.S.-Cuba Democracy PAC, told TMZ that the pair's tourism was ignorant and offensive because of the human rights violations that go down in the country on the reg.

"There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are being jailed for no reason ... people are fighting for their freedom," Claver-Carone griped. "It’s extremely insensitive."

United States citizens are technically banned from visiting Cuba for purely tourist purposes -- they have to obtain travel licenses to go just for work purposes ... which they may well have been doing, since Hov is scouting baseball players for his agency.

Whatever dude. They're BFFs with the Obamas. We doubt they're propping up Commies for kicks.
