In perhaps one of the saddest and most shocking stories to hit the web of late, Jael Strauss, a former contestant on 'Americas Next Top Model' who finished sixth on the reality competition show in 2007, is suffering from a crystal meth addiction -- and it's not only torn her life apart, it's left her once-pretty face a ravaged mess.

News surfaced when the video clip below of Strauss appearing on 'Dr. Phil' was released showing Strauss' tragic transformation from model to addict.

Appearing to make her way to the stage on the arm of a member of the show's staff, Strauss turned and ran through the studio before dashing outside and hiding behind a dumpster. Dr. Phil later caught up with the clearly distraught and unrecognizable former model behind the aforementioned trash receptacle and offered her some kind words.

"This is the first time in 10 years I've come out here," he told her, "and it's to talk to you."

It was also revealed that during her stint on 'ANTM,' Strauss received a phone call telling her her best friend died of a heroin overdose, leaving Strauss to completely break down in front of the ever-present cameras without anyone calling in a professional to help her cope.

"Poor girl. Having problems and then getting a hint of fame only make an addiction rise. They should have evaluated her a lot more before letting her on the show," said CariDee English, an 'ANTM' winner. "All they saw was a personality good for television."

"Hopefully will save at least her life and someone watching," English added. "Everything happens for a reason."
