Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on 'Glee,' was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday morning (July 13) of as yet undetermined causes. He was a tragically young 31 years old.

The Canadian actor was apparently out with friends on Friday night and returned to his room alone; hotel staff later found his "clearly deceased" body when he missed check-out time around noon local time yesterday.

Foul play is not suspected. Back in April, Monteith did a voluntary stint in rehab for substance abuse, but police would not say if drugs or anything else of a suspicious nature were found in the room. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

"We know there will be considerable interest in this case, and we have detectives assigned to the case who attended with our Forensic Identification Unit to examine the scene, to ensure to the extent possible that there are no unanswered questions," Acting Police Chief Doug LePard said. "Hotel video has been secured as well as room access records. Our investigators have spoken with hotel staff, who are providing the utmost in cooperation."

In a joint statement, 'Glee's executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company, said:

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

As are ours. RIP, Cory.
