Despite being the lead villain and one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, Darth Vader only has 12 minutes of screen time in the first Star Wars movie; that’s less than 10% of the movie. That’s just one of the facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which catches up with the Sith Lord, Darth Vader!

In the film, Darth Vader is portrayed by David Prowse, who actually turned down the role of Chewbacca. The film was shot with Prowse providing the dialogue, but George Lucas later opted for a voiceover track. He originally considered actor-director Orson Welles, but his voice was too recognizable. He eventually settled on James Earl Jones, who was paid only $7,000 for his work.
