Tweets of the Day

Today is Aug. 21, and it's also hump day. The stars weren't so much interested in hump day, but they were talking about political topics, celebrity birthdays and announcements about their various careers. Maybe next Wednesday, Twitter.

Today (Aug. 20) in the Twitterverse, we got trolled by celebs who refuse to use calendars, looked at some cute puppies and even cuter engagement photos, and honored the memory of legendary screenwriter Elmore Leonard, who died today.

It's Monday, Aug. 19, and also World Humanitarian Day -- so be kind to your fellow men and women, won't you? For once, it's what the celebs seemed to do around the globe.

It's Friday, Friday and we used up all our Rebecca Black jokes already. Today (Aug. 16) in the celebrity Twitter-sphere, stars threw shade at one another, made us laugh at their witticisms and quoted 'Mean Girls.' All in all, not a bad start to the weekend.

Today, Aug. 15, some celebrities shared photos of themselves on Twitter hanging out with their reality show friends, and some won Throwback Thursday with actual pictures of throwback items. Still others had us thinking existential thoughts.

It's Wednesday, Aug. 14, so of course Twitter is abuzz with plenty of Hump Day jokes and even one Bump Day joke. Sadly, none of them were from Fergie.

Today (Aug. 13), Sarah Silverman has that not-so-fresh feeling, Brandi Glanville may get some unexpectedly risque DMs, and Steve Martin needs a little love. And that's just for starters.

Today (Aug. 12) was the day of Gaga, with Mother Monster tweeting ad nauseum about her brand-new single, 'Applause.' But that didn't mean that's what the rest of the celebs were talking about.

Today (Aug. 9) was sort of a sad day in the celebrity Twitter world. If Whitney Houston was still alive she would have turned 50 today, and stars have been honoring actress Karen Black who died yesterday. It's a pretty dark Friday.

Today (Aug. 8), the hot topic of the day was "OH MY GOD, WHAT DID BEYONCE DO TO HER HAIR?!" Hint: It's either a wig, or that's how short her hair is without wigs and weaves. It's also Throwback Thursday, so there was a bunch of that too.

Even though it's hump day, that doesn't mean that celebrity Twitter accounts couldn't be abuzz with wild late night dance parties, revelations that they changed lives and even a shark sighting on the subway. Hey, no one said Wednesdays have to be boring.

It's August 6, and the celebrities of the world are spending their time on Twitter conversing with one another, posting cute pictures of animals and honoring the late George Duke. Which, all things considered, is a pretty busy day (in 140 characters or less).

Another weekend has come and gone and it's once again Monday. The good news? It's also Shark Week, which should help to take some of the sting out of those Monday blues. Check out today's celeb tweets to see how the stars are ridding themselves of the Mondays.

Happy August! It is officially Aug. 1, which means you have one month left to get all your summer goals accomplished before September starts and we fill your days with repetitive Green Day jokes. You know the ones.

It may be the last day of July, but that doesn't mean that the events of the month will fade away. Proof? The cronuts fad and jokes about Anthony Weiner are still going strong. Still other people chose to look at the past today, wondering out loud about blenders. Really.

Today (July 30) in the world of Twitter, celebrities asked for favors, gave advice -- to us and each other -- and got lost in the wilderness, never to be seen again. Unless someone can figure out Russell Crowe's whereabouts and get him a helicopter, that is.

Today (July 29) was just another Manic Monday, during which Twitter was filled with mindless facts, heartfelt goodbyes and a reminder that Robert Downey Jr. is our God. (Psh, like someone needs to remind us of that.)

Today (July 26) is Friday, albeit not a black one or a special one like Friday the 13th. But that's okay, we won't hold that against it. Anyway, to celebrate the upcoming weekend, celebrities taught us new words, played with some taxidermied animals and tried to predict the end of their favorite TV shows.

Today on Twitter (July 25) no one made any Christmas in July references, which made us super sad pandas. It was also Thursday, which really means pre-Friday. (Dear Rebecca Black, kindly make a 'Friday' follow-up called 'Thursday' so we can mock it on the regular.)
