In case you didn't know, the precocious child star from 'My Girl,' Anna Chlumsky, has her own girl now. She welcomed a baby girl named Penelope Joanwith husband, Shaun So, on July 11 in New York City. Said the 32-year-old of her new addition, "She’s a really good mix between my husband and me. NBC correspondent Jenna Wolfe gave birth to a baby girl named Harper Estelle Wolfeld Gosk with her partner, journalist Stephanie Gosk, on Aug. 22. The couple announced their pregnancy news in March, also revealing to the world that they were a couple and that Wolfe was a lesbian. At the time she admitted, "I don't want to bring my daughter into a world where I'm not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is."
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem had their second child on July 22 in Madrid, Spain: a girl they named Luna Encinas Cruz, one of our favorite celebrity baby names of 2013. Luna, of course, means "moon" in Spanish, and Encinas is Bardem's paternal surname (full name: Javier Angel Encinas Bardem), which roughly translates to "live oak."
Funny people Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard welcomed their first child, a daughter they named Lincoln Bell Shepard, on March 28. At the time of her birth, her father joked, "Lincoln Bell Shepard is here. She has mom's beauty and dad's obsession with breasts. Hooray!!!" Now that their gay friends have the same rights as they do and can get married in California, the couple have made plans to officially tie the knot themselves -- with Bell even proposing to Shepard on Twitter.
Sexiest man alive honoree Channing Tatum and actress/wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum gave birth to their daughter, Everly, on May 31 in London, and boy did she win the genetic lottery with those parents. The first-time parents have done everything they can to control information about their daughter, even releasing photos of her themselves rather than selling them to the press.
Actor Jeremy Renner's ex-girlfriend Sonni Pacheco gave birth to the couple's daughter, Ava Berlin, on March 28. Late night television host Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, had a daughter via surrogate on July 23. Winnie, one of the best-named celebrity babies of 2013, was actually named for Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire where Fallon and his wife vacation every summer. And as Fallon pointed out, "Winnie from 'The Wonder Years' is the coolest girl in any TV show ever. And also, she's a 'win' for us." Awww.
Violet Grace Devereux
Sounding like an old world star of stage and screen, Violet Grace Devereux Sanford came into the world on April 22, the daughter of Australian actress Poppy Montgomery and her executive boyfriend Shawn Sanford. She was the couple's first child together, and as they announced at the time of her birth, "We are overjoyed with the arrival of our beautiful angel and filled with gratitude that she is happy, healthy and thriving."
If Violet Grace Devereux Sanford sounds like a silent movie star, then Maxwell Haze would have to be a film noir detective on the mean streets of New York City. The son of Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson and his wife, Kristin Willits, was born on July 10, making him the second child for the duo -- but definitely the first kid we've heard of that has that name.
Winning the baby name lottery so far in 2013 would have to be Fergie and Josh Duhamel's brand-new baby boy, Axl Jack Duhamel, who came into the world via C-section on Aug. 29. The baby was given the rock n' roll name after Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. Fergie is an enormous G&N fan, and Axl is her idol.
