Lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis got in a serious scuffle with some bodyguards outside the Four Seasons in Philly today (June 21) after they refused to let him inside the hotel -- and it was all caught on video.

Kiedis and a female companion can be seen walking up to the hotel, which they're barred from entering. It gets ugly when the security guard touches him on the chest, Kiedis shoves back and then it basically turns into something out of a cartoon where you don't know whose limbs belong to whom.

Turns out Kiedis was trying to get into the hotel at the same time that the Rolling Stones were leaving, he wasn't recognized, and security thought he was just a fan.

All while the cameramen screamed to leave the Red Hot Chili Pepper alone.

Weirdly enough, no one knows right now who the guard worked for -- the hotel denies he's on their team, and the Stones are saying he doesn't work directly for them either. Insiders say it's possible he was an extra hand hired for the Philly show to help with crowd control.

In a statement to TMZ, all Kiedis had to say was, "I love the Rolling Stones."

Perfection.
