A t-shirt poking fun at Taylor Swift's penchant for collecting boyfriends was swiftly (AREN'T WE CLEVER) pulled from Abercrombie & Fitch stores following a big outcry from the singer's fans.

The shirt in question featured the phrase "# more boyfriends than t.s." -- which offended Swifties, who called the company en masse to complain. (Us? We're more upset they don't understand how hashtags work.)

In response to the debacle, A&F pulled the shirts from stores and sent out this tweet:

Doesn't that sound sincere?

A&F also recorded an automated message (which you can listen to here) on their phone systems that says, "If you are calling regarding the Taylor Swift T-shirt, please note that this item is no longer available."

It's the latest PR snafu for the retailer. As you'll probably recall, Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries recently came under fire for not selling clothes above a size 10 because he doesn't want "not-so-cool kids" wearing them.

But really, when even Alex Trebek mocks her love life, how high on the list of sins can a jokey Taylor Swift T-shirt rank?
