Because celebrities love nothing more than a good cause they can say they helped out with, a whole lot of them stepped out for Wednesday night's 12-12-12 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

But let's not forget: It was totes about the Hurricane Sandy victims!

Bruce Springsteen opened the show, which featured a Bon Jovi duet because yo, New Jersey.

Billy Crystal followed with some jokes about the Long Island Power Authority before Pink Floyd's Roger Waters took the stage. A rather bloated Eddie Vedder joined Waters, a collaboration that Waters dubbed "magical."

Adam Sandler followed, taking a break from singing 'The Hanukkah Song' and releasing increasingly painful films to do a parody of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah.' After that somewhat profane performance, Kristen Stewart took a break from scowling and apologizing to Robert Pattinson to introduce Bon Jovi -- and OMG, Bruce came out again!

Our imaginary boyfriend Jon Stewart came on next, preceding Eric Clapton. Jimmy Fallon then introduced the Rolling Stones and looked so excited he may have peed a little. Presh!

Alicia Keys did a piano-driven set, followed by The Who. And Kanye West wore a leather skirt because of course he did.

Jake Gyllenhaal, sporting a literal beard this time (Taylor Swift was too busy with Harry Styles to make it), introduced Long Island native Billy Joel. Chris Martin of Coldplay performed with Michael Stipe of R.E.M.

Sir Paul McCartney hit the stage with Nirvana's Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, making the questionable decisions of both wearing acid washed jeans and of performing 'Live and Let Die' at a show for, you know, victims of a natural disaster.

Keys returned to close to the show with 'Empire State of Mind' without Jay-Z, who apparently had better things to do.

Proceeds from the concert, which lasted over six hours and had the ability to reach over 2 billion people through streaming and television broadcasting, went to the Robin Hood Foundation to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Because charity.
